Saturday Special: Anti-King Anti-Knight Killer Sudoku

Anti-Chess Killer Sudoku contains a few hybrids, which combine multiple anti-chess variants. Here is a sample that is both Anti-King and Anti-Knight, meaning no two cells one king’s move OR one knight’s move away from each other can have the same value.

MEDIUM Version
INSANE Version

The answer to both versions is the same and is here

A difficult TriDoku (Triangular Sudoku variant) puzzle

After a couple of Killer TriDokus and a TriDoku X, I’d like to show you a classic TriDoku puzzle but somewhat more difficult (or so I think).

For those who are still unfamiliar with this type of triangular Sudoku variation puzzle, please refer to the introductory article.

Other TriDoku puzzles can be found in this category.

And finally, here is the puzzle.

Saturday Special: Anti-King Killer Sudoku

Here is another Anti-King killer. No two cells one king’s move away from each other can have the same value. In other words, no diagonally adjacent cells can have the same value. Like last week’s Anti-Chess killer sample, this one comes in 3 difficulties:

BEGINNER version
HARD version
INSANE version

The solution to the easy version is here and the solution to the hard and insane versions is here.

Saturday Special: Anti-King Killer Sudoku

Here’s another Anti-Chess sample puzzle: this one’s a bit harder than the last one.

This one’s a HARD (4/5…BRAIN/IQ) Anti-King Killer
(this puzzle was originally classified insane, but is actually easier than the insane puzzles in the book)

Anti-King means that no two cells one king’s move move away from each other in chess can have the same value. In other words, in addition to the rules of regular sudoku, no diagonally adjacent cells can have the same value.

I have posted a visual walkthrough and solution for this puzzle on the forums here

Overlapping CalcuDoku (Square Wisdom, MathDoku) puzzle

It’s been quite a while since I last posted a CalcuDoku puzzle. I’m going to fix that now and to make it up to you, it will be a somewhat special variant of Square Wisdom puzzles.

It’s an overlapping, 2 in 1 (Gattai-2), CalcuDoku puzzle, which is essentially in a TwoDoku layout.

Remember the rules: there are no 3×3 nonets (nor any other kind of nonets). You only need to make sure that each row and each column contain one occurrence of each digit. And finally, unlike Killer Sudoku puzzles, in CalcuDoku puzzles numbers can be repeated in each cage!

Of course, if you need assistance with cage combinations, you can use the CalcuDoku calculator.

Here’s my first new sample puzzle for the Anti-Chess Killer Sudoku book.

This one’s a MEDIUM (THINKER) Anti-Knight Killer

Anti-Knight means that no two cells one Knight‘s move away from each other in chess can have the same value.
